An Adult Playground of Bowling, Bocce and Beer

Good news: as of Friday, it’ll be pretty much impossible to have a bad day.

Let’s just say, hypothetically, that you start to feel one taking shape Friday morning.

One of those sad-movie-montage kind of mornings when a passing car splashes a puddle onto your lower half, a passerby spills coffee onto your upper half, “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” wafts from a window...

But then later you go to Plank. There’s no other way to say it: it’s a playground for adults. Eighteen bowling lanes, 40 flat-screens, 50 beers, plenty of pizza and skee-ball and NBA Hoops and just... fun.

Anyway, it opens Friday in Jack London Square. (Here’s the slideshow, and here’s the menu.)

You might’ve picked up on this. It’s a zero-pretense place. Also, it’s massive. Used to be a Barnes & Noble. So you could just watch the game with a curry-chicken pizza and a pint, but...

You’ll probably want to put your name down for a bowling lane. Or catch the sunset on the deck, and see how your bocce arm is holding up. Or drag a date to the arcade for an intense bout of Monster Drop Extreme.

You know it’s intense because of the “Extreme.”
