Point Break
Staying near the World’s Best Surfbreaks
The pro surfers came and went this week.
And while it was fun—bonfires; fish tacos; cold, shark-infested waters—next time you want better
conditions.
If that includes a waterfront villa with an on-site massage therapist, so be it...
Let us present
Surfbreak Rentals, a vacation rental site that handpicks villas, cottages and
mansions from all over the world according to their proximity to 1,800 prime surf spots that you’ll want
to call home, online now.
Launched out of a Mill Valley surf shop, this site is a mashup of Surfline, VRBO and
Coastal
Living. So the hardest part about your vacation-planning duties will be to decide whether you’ll go
to Hawaii or Nicaragua or Indonesia.
When you want to get intense about surf culture and up your game via osmosis, you can stay in the homes of
pro surfers like big wave vet Peter Mel’s
Santa Cruz cottage or top-32 ASP
World Tour surfer Freddy Patacchia’s
North Shore spot.
But for more of a luxe getaway with the option to surf, you could splurge for a
villa in Bali with on-site massage
therapists, a private chef and an infinity pool. Or there’s
the mansion in Puerto Escondido
with grass tennis courts, five kitchens and an antique pool table.
Tomorrow night, they’ll officially launch with a party at Public Works. Expect liquid-latex-clad women, $1
Fernet shots and a friendly poker tournament.
But you might already be in Bali.
