In your experience, it's impossible to have too many good places to relax.
Which is why you'll appreciate Post Ranch Inn's recent expansion: 10 new eco-luxurious suites with
unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean or the Ventana Mountain Range.
Since opening in 1992, this legendary cliffside lodge, buried in the woods along the craggy Big Sur
coastline, has offered a genuine backcountry camping vibe (there are actual tree houses on the property).
Only, instead of the hassle of a tent, you're treated to cashmere bedding, flat screens, two-sided
fireplaces, floor-to-ceiling windows and heated floors. (In other words, everything camping should
be.)
As for the new suites: There are two ocean-view Cliff Houses, two mountainside Peak
Houses and six two-level Pacifics. Each has a private entry, courtyard and cantilevered
glass deck, the last one getting you as close to ocean waves or treetops as you want, without having to
brave the elements—or drop your flute of Dom.
If you can tear yourselves away from the room, we recommend a Thai massage to smooth out the knots, Reiki to
restore your chi or, for something more spiritual, a session with a shaman.
After all, if you're going to splurge, splurge all the way.
