Pudding on Airs
Scores of Bread Pudding in Hayes Valley

You know what they say: man cannot live by bread alone.
You know what they don’t say: anything about bread pudding.
Which is a shame, really. Because bread pudding can be pretty damn tasty. Speaking of...
Here’s
Schulzies Bread Pudding, a new sanctuary for anything and everything bread pudding,
opening Monday in Hayes Valley (with a low-key sneak peek tonight).
Think of this as an old-school ice cream shop, but for sweet, sweet bread pudding. It’s tiny—not much
bigger than a closet—but outfitted with the essentials: reclaimed wood floors, marble-slab countertops
and... a chandelier made of vintage baking tools. (Like we said, the essentials.)
We see you stopping in for a quick pre-symphony treat with your date. There’ll be roughly 12 to 18 flavors
displayed in the fridge, curated from the
108 or so options in their repertoire. You’ll grab a spork (that’s how they do things
here), get a scoop or two of pudding and go to town. (They also do flights, if you’re feeling
indecisive.)
As for those options, we’re talking spork-worthy concoctions like the
Blazin’ Rum Raisin, the
self-explanatory
Wonderful Whisky and the
All-American Bacon Maple.
God bless America.
