House of Rag
Rag & Bone's New West Village Home

4bda4ad6f4dacc298b4294dd4a3b4af2 You've shopped for clothing in some unusual places—liquor stores and punk rock hellholes among them.

But you haven't looked for cashmere in a porn shop in quite some time... Rag & Bone's new men's store—housed in a former porn video store (also called Rag & Bone...)—is now open in the West Village.

Knowing what you know about Rag & Bone (wearable, simple-but-not-too-simple guy's guy gear), the new space should fit right in. They've gutted the place so that any hint of Debbie, Dallas or her friends are just distant memories. Instead, the boys behind Rag & Bone have managed to turn out the type of man-focused downtown boutique you're used to frequenting, complete with slate floors, brick walls and exposed beam ceilings.

Stop in on a lazy Sunday, gracefully accept a mug of the house-made mulled wine and you'll find yourself surrounded by the entire men's collection, gathered in one place for the first time anywhere. There's everything from button-downs, bowties and driving gloves to tailored suits, cashmere sweaters and those shoes (a collaboration with old-school Brits Grenson) we once told you about.

Just don't ask for any DVDs.
