Hype-Checking Marquee, EVR and Output

Hype: it’s a delicate thing. Especially when it comes to shiny new clubs. So we thought we’d check out the three hypiest ones in town for you and report back. You’ll find the results below. Well, results and table dancers.

Output—Williamsburg
PUT PUT

Output—Williamsburg

The Scene: Two levels of permanent warehouse parties hosting Berlin’s and New York’s finest electro DJs.
The Good: Plenty of room for your most daring moves and a music-synced LED system.
The Bad: Tight security with a low tolerance for your extracurriculars.
Keywords: the wee hours, audiophile heaven, moral ambiguity

Output, 74 Wythe Ave (at N 12th), Brooklyn, phone numbers are so over

EVR—Midtown
EVR AFTER HOURS

EVR—Midtown

The Scene: A low-slung lounge of chilled-out electro at 12:30am that gives way to Kanye by 1:30am and... accepts Bitcoins.
The Good: Doormen named Euphrates and Jefferson. Table-dancing bottle servers.
The Bad: The crowd never really... materialized during our field research.
Keywords: unisex bathrooms, confetti parties, chronic confetti hair

EVR, 54 W 39th St (between 5th and 6th), 212-997-3900

Marquee—Chelsea
ON YOUR MARQ

Marquee—Chelsea

The Scene: A massive, bi-level, pink-lit palace that came back from the dead in January.
The Good: A chandelier made of microphones. Cheetah-spandex-suited go-go dancers who’ve got skills.
The Bad: Too many flash selfies happening. A large contingent who thought the party was in the bathroom.
Keywords: legalize it, one-night stands, try a weekday

Marquee, 289 10th Ave (between 26th and 27th), 646-473-0202
