Welcome to Paradise
Dive Bar from Welcome to the Johnsons

Nothing takes the edge off a 250 pound bouncer holding back a 50 deep crowd from 20 dollar drinks like a good old-fashioned dive bar.

Welcome to the...Sweet Paradise Lounge.

The newly opened LES bar is the latest destination for hipsters and hipster wannabes alike, brought to you by the owner of the original on-the-cheap dive spot, Welcome to the Johnsons.

Since there's nothing quite like 2am Pabst Blue Ribbon-induced Ms. PacMan faceoffs and slumming it on Johnsons' plastic covered couches, we were pleased to see this younger sibling's own idiosyncrasies: a glass case of movie-theater candies like Jujyfruits, Milk Duds, Sour Patch Kids, Reese's Pieces—all for 3 bucks each.

Pop a few jujys, knock back some 2 dollar Genesee Cream Ale beers and 3 dollar frozen margaritas (for your hipster girls) on the black swivel bar chairs, and drop a buck into their trademark jukebox for some Ramones, Lou Reed, or good old Johnny Cash.

Junior mints, tunes and two drinks for less than 10 bucks?

Paradise, indeed.
