A New Old Garage Full of Beer

None 7 Photos Houston Hall
Think about a frosty mug of delicious beer.

Now think about what you’re doing tonight.

Now merge those two thoughts in an old garage in SoHo.

And just like that, you’ve got this...

It’s Houston Hall, an old auto garage whose sole purpose is serving you beer you can’t get anywhere else, now open.

The word “ginormous” comes to mind here. You can scream things to the rafters, because it’s got rafters. But for all that space, it’s pretty simple. Just bricks, mortar, work stools, work tables and the occasional mural of what guys in the early 1900s thought New York would look like by now. (Hint: biplanes. Lots of biplanes.)

It’s all here for the glorification of Houston Hall’s glorious beers, which are gloriously brewed in Greenpoint just for them. (It’s glorious.) Pilsners. Chocolaty porters. A wheat beer called Marco’s Wit that’ll pair perfectly with warmer weather (blood orange is involved).

They all go great with their booze-sopping classics like the bacon-cheddar-blue grilled cheese from Milk Truck and sesame chili wings. Because... wings and beer, that’s why.

And in case you were thinking about watching any upcoming major sporting events that everyone watches every year, they’ve got an appropriately monstrous projector for those occasions.

The World Series of Darts deserves nothing less.
