The End
A Big Blue Den of Getting Down on the Bowery
Happy Monday.
... That just never sounds right. You’re not buying “Happy Monday.”
Let’s talk about this coming Thursday instead...
Steel yourself for
Finale, a color-blue-loving subterranean dance haven on the Bowery, opening
Thursday.
You’ve been known to dance. This is a place for that. A place from the folks behind SL and Tenjune. A
place where Heidi Klum was supposed to have her infamous Halloween party, before weather got in the way. A
place
bathed in that kind of pulsing blue light that... makes everything pulse with blue.
Also: a lot of temporary street art—a placeholder until the giant blue padded-leather walls come in (those
always seem to be on back order).
Ideally, you want to arrive with a gaggle of photogenic acquaintances. Enter through the discreet door on
the left of the building. After you descend the staircase, there’s the beginning of the graffiti and the
lights. Keep walking. Picture yourself in slow motion with a fish-eye lens on you. Hang a right at the
corner. You’ve reached the club.
Pile into one of those blue banquettes. There’s a ring of them around the outside, but shoot for one in
the sunken middle area. That’s the dance floor. Warn everyone there to make way.
You need space for your trademark casual head bob.
