On the Betterment of Dirt Candy

None 8 Photos Dirt Candy
We realize there haven’t been a whole hell of a lot of times where we’ve given our vegetarian friends the care and love they so richly deserve.

And they probably need to take supplements to obtain those things on a daily basis.

Kidding aside, none of those other times was the day Dirt Candy was reopening.

And this one is.

Yes, New York’s finest herbivorous feasting haven is now thankfully bigger and opening tonight on the LES.

Dirt Candy was where you’d go on a vegetarian date. Where the beet gnocchi would make you think, for one shining moment, “Hey, maybe I could do this forever.”

Then the moment passed. But you never forgot that beet gnocchi.

You were younger then.

On to the differences: where the old one was but a wee establishment, this one is perfectly normal size, with floor-to-ceiling windows and studded white faux-leather (of course) chairs. Where it once lacked multi-human orders of brussels sprout tacos with smoked avocado, this one possesses them. Where cocktails had no quarter before, there’s now a mezcal version of a tequila sunrise, though it’s still called a tequila sunrise.

This basically just doubled your Tinder options.
