A Pizza Juggernaut in the West Village

Sometimes you just really need some combination of cheese, tomato and round dough.

Most of the time, they call this phenomenon pizza.

This will be no exception.

And it will be had at Rossopomodoro, a pizza corner that just sprang right out of Eataly, opening tomorrow in the West Village.

These guys started in Naples and made their way into Eataly. Now they’re out in the world and part of a golden age in the upper-echelon pizza game. You got your Marta in NoMad. You got your GG’s in the East Village. And now this—a fetching little combination of cocktail bar, first-date spot and grocery store.

You’re going to eat and drink things here, as is custom, and if you want to experience some of the devastating hunger usually induced by mushroom pizzas, ravioli and Spagliatos, there’s this slideshow thing we’ve got.

Oh yeah, the grocery part. There’s a counter with bread, cheese and pasta. So you can walk around with a bag of that stuff, bread sticking out the top.

Should make nice decor pieces for the holidays.
