Giving Away the Ending

A Palmy House of French Comfort

The end.

... Okay, let’s begin.

With Happy Ending, a tropical refuge of French comfort food and classic cocktails from a combination of the Café Select guy, a gallery owner and a former French Laundry luminary. It’s open now on the LES.

This used to be a very different situation. In the days when the Cobrasnake was a thing, people danced and DJ’d and wore little clothing here. It was fun. Nothing wrong with that. But this is... completely different. It’s mostly for eating that crucial final meal of the day, in the form of lamb two ways and duck steak and Raymos Gin Fizzes to be had.

And it’s tropical, for some reason, and just set way back in the building, so you’re away from winter, and you can deny that it’s here. Denial works, sometimes. Right? In any case, it’s got a bit of a Paul’s Baby Grand vibe going on, and winter can’t exist in that.

And soon the downstairs will be happening again. So... we lied. That’ll be a better version of what it used to be, with the rhythmic moving and all.

You’ve got to love downstairses.
