1. You get to use the word “quartino” today. For that, you can thank Vic’s (pictured,
left), opening tonight in NoHo.
This was Five Points. The bad news: that’s closed. The good: the same husband-and-wife team’s behind this. And Cookshop. And Hundred Acres.
If the scene outside Cookshop is any indicator, this’ll be high-quality people-watching country. But you should probably keep your eye on your date. Or the sight of roasted oxtail with chili agrodolce getting closer and closer to your mouth from a plate.
So now, definitely split a quartino (boom) of red, and soak in all the white and light-wood modernism via the magic of slideshow.
2. And now on to Pinks (pictured, right) in the East Village.
Just opened. Got a little bit of a garage vibe going. You should go. But first, know this about it:
It’s an old-school rock bar. Like one of those places that closed in the last few years that you got legitimately sad about. It’s got cocktails that are suspiciously cheap and suspiciously strong. It’s got cornbread and chicken waffles. It’s going to have burlesque and blues trios and USB ports along the bar. And you should look at all of it here in this slideshow.
And one of those things is not like the others.
