Hey Juni

A Power-Dining Spot in NoMad

Let’s not mess around today.

You’ve got flawless power lunching to do.

Smooth your lapels for Juni, a NoMad power-dining spot from a Michelin-starred Aussie, now open at the Hotel Chandler.

There’s no wheel reinventing here—just a muted, very beige and dignified couple of dining rooms. An ideal of the form that could pass for American Psycho’s Dorsia. (In a good way.)

Re: the dinners: Shaun Hergatt (late of SHO Shaun Hergatt) is your chef. Doing four, six and 10 courses of ingenious ways to arrange, emulsify, combine and prepare provisions like fresh peaches, avocado, langoustine and veal tenderloin.

For lunch, it’s two or three courses with people you unironically call “associates.” You’ll lean forward in plush leather chairs and stark velvet banquettes. You’ll say stuff like “Can’t do it, Bob.” You’ll try not to drink anything that requires a nap later.

But the bar: it’s a separate, low-lit seduction nook to the right of the hotel entrance. Could be a strawberry-and-balsamic tequila cocktail. Could be a strawberry blonde waiting for no one in particular. But you’re in trouble here.

Fun trouble.
