A Williamsburg Roof of Mexican Street Food

Taco towers. Ice-cold tequila drinks. Sunbrella-speckled roof decks, crispy cheese, tattooed women, brilliant skylights.

Right, we know—you’re not interested. Understood.

But just in case you know someone who might be...

Meet Zona Rosa, a sun-soaked corner of Mexican street food with a highly habitable roof. She opens tomorrow in Williamsburg.

Now, we could tell you this is merely a place to relax with some friends and work on your tan over tamarind margaritas and trilevel towers of fish tacos. But that’d be a shameful lie. Because it would neglect the fact that your next several first dates should happen here, too. And that maybe you could even come alone, because they’ve got guacamole that you scoop up with a crispy all-cheese chicharrón, and sharing that would be wrong.

Whatever you come here for, you’ll notice the kitchen first. It’s that 1956 Airstream trailer at the entrance (high number on the difficult-to-miss scale). Grab one of the two-tops beneath the big skylight. Actually, scratch that. It’s summer. You’re going to the roof deck, with its own bar stocking only ceviches, tequila and mezcal.

Hopefully you can abide such limitations.
