Han Solo
Korean Skewers and Soju in Flatiron

Your next conversation will include the phrase “and the braised pig feet were a revelation.”

Consider that a holiday gift.

It all starts here...

Step lively into Hanjan, an unassuming house of refined Korean street foods and the rice wines that love them, now open in Flatiron.

Hopefully, you’ve been to Danji—Korean small-plates joint in Hell’s Kitchen. Anyway, this is the same chef. His mission in life seems to be to create the perfect combination eating-drinking experience for the hungry masses... who yearn for spice.

You can get behind that.

We’re assuming there’s room in your world for a place with some outstanding crispy scallion pancakes and every Korean-barbecue favorite you’ve ever tried, but on sticks. And we’ve surmised that if they were to add a healthy soju list (consider soju mandatory here), you wouldn’t hate that, either.

Bring a group. There’s a communal table in the middle of the small space, so you’ll have the run of the joint.

Or there’s the wood-topped bar that’s right there as you walk in. We won’t tell you to skip it. In fact, that just might be your play. Order up a Korean-chili-infused vodka cocktail, some spicy stir-fried octopus, and just let the night play itself out.

You’ve got a strong history with that strategy.
