Gang Green
The Nightclub That May Just Save the Planet
You've been partying too long at the expense of the environment.
We know it and you know it. But hey, we don't want to come down on you too hard—we're not your mother. We
do, however, have a way for you to make amends:
Greenhouse, New York's very first green
nightclub, opens tonight in Soho.
Let's get this out of the way: Greenhouse is a nightclub first, environmental savior second. Sure, there
are bamboo walls, eco-friendly banquettes, waterless urinals, Brad Pitt-endorsed Kiehl's products in the
bathroom and the whole place is "LEED-registered", but you'll be a bit more preoccupied with the more
literal greenness—preserved leaves lining the ceiling, faux grass discs on the wall, animal topiary
encased in glass cube tables...basically everything you need to feel like you're in a boozy dance party in
the middle of Central Park.
And there are plenty of nooks and crannies for you to do your green partying thing. Walking in, you'll have
your choice of upstairs or down. You'll be down when you want to party under the leaves, and you'll go up if
you're feeling VIP or want to do some dancing with a couple eco-bunnies.
There's even a separate, secret way in (if you can't be bothered to go through the front door) that drops
you right into the curtained-off-at-your-request VIP lounge.
Nothing green about that, but you're not perfect...
