When a designer's shop includes the phrase "I love the earth" (and, okay, an emoticon), caution is probably
advised. But we're happy to say that Xoelle's line of limited-edition handmade ties and belts—all made
from recycled materials—are subtly handsome. They also make aprons, if you're into that. (Tip: don't
be into that.)
When your parents were young, hipster photo sites like Last Night's Party weren't around to document their
awesomeness. Correcting that tragic accident of time and circumstance: this site, which collects classic
photos of cool parents in their glory days, like this effortlessly cool couple enjoying the
era's finest pleasures: a good read, an awesome 'stache and a short skirt.
But if you'd rather investigate the wonders of the contemporary art world, check out this aptly named
photoblog from the minds behind the World's Best Ever. Not included: a primer on how to pretend like you
actually understand Takashi Murakami's latest masterwork.
You can already find out how
hetero someone's Twitter is, but now you can subject a feed to a whole psychological evaluation. The
site ranks your tweets for everything from simile usage to how often you talk about work, all to figure out
how much "glory" and "anxiety" you're expressing. Shocking discovery: Donald Trump's capacity for abstract
thought is off the charts.
Given the content, a better title might be One Hundred Years of Guys Looking Cool. Start at page
142 with the section called Rebel, where you'll find classic shots of anti-establishment types like Brando,
Dean and Sinatra. Our favorite, though, is a pic of two relative unknowns from the '70s, just hanging out
and looking cool. The guys: Starsky and Hutch. (No, not the Wilson and Stiller versions.)
