Meet the Beer & Pretzel Caramel

UD - Liddabit Beer & Pretzel CaramelsIt's Friday, so let's make it quick and simple: Beer. Pretzels. Caramel.

Really, that's it. Someone had the foresight to put them all together, and we'd like to introduce you to that someone.

Meet Liddabit, an online purveyor doling out Beer & Pretzel Caramels, an appropriately named dessert that combines all that's good and holy in this world into one delicious morsel.

Think of them as everything you need for St. Pat's in one tiny bite. Or as everything you need to settle in for March Madness slathered onto one tasty caramel. Or as something else altogether. The point is that you're probably going to think of them, whether you need a snack for round one of the tournament Thursday or just wonder what would happen if you combined you and your date's favorite foods.

The composition works like this: the caramel is handmade in Brooklyn. On top of that, you've got pretzels, sourced from Martin's, who roll their sourdough by hand in Pennsylvania. (All without the help of electricity.) And then there's beer—a hoppy mix of Brown Ale and East India Pale Ale from Brooklyn Brewery. (One ingredient shy of a Final Four.)

So when you bite in, the first thing you'll notice is the intricate dance of sweet and chewy (that would be the caramel) and savory and crunchy (that would be the pretzels). But then, a final hint will hit you—a subtle final note of beer, a little bite that lets you know something fascinating, something boozy has happened here.

Don't tell the Amish.
