Drinking Butter for Breakfast

The World’s First Bulletproof Coffee in a Can

It’s good to support sustainable and ethical food practices like eating free-range chickens, buying wild-caught fish and ensuring that your coffee beans are only fed the freshest grass.

...

It’s possible we got that last part wrong.

But we speak of Grass Fed Coffee, the world’s first canned “bulletproof” coffee, that thing wherein one mixes butter into their morning joe for purported benefits like greater energy, better focus and a slower caffeine release. It’s available for preorder now and it will begin shipping your way soon.

Four things reside within: cold-brew coffee, grass-fed butter, MCT oil and organic chicory. Let us break them down for you.

Coffee: You know what that is. But this particular kind comes from Peru and is cold-brewed for a sweeter, less acidic taste.

Grass-fed butter: Turns out, it’s the cows that eat the grass. This is the butter from said cows.

MCT oil: That would be medium chain triglycerides extracted from coconut oil. Apparently they’ve got some health benefits that include fat burning and muscle building. We don’t know. We’re not doctors. Can’t hurt to ask one, though.

Chicory: That’s mostly for flavor and a smoother mouthfeel.

Okay, breakdown complete.

So if any or all of the above sound appealing to you, go ahead and procure a few cans. Start your morning with one. Keep some in your office fridge. Pour some in a glass and then top that glass with rum.

And just like that, you’ve invented cold buttered rum... coffee.
