Advantage: You
The WAGs of the US Open

So the US Open begins today. To save you from the potential neck strain of trying to watch every set, we’ve picked the six most attractive potential matchups, based on the players’ wives and girlfriends. (If you miss a match, consult our slideshow.) Among them you’ll find a Swedish model, an American model and a Chilean pop star... who also models.

Robin Soderling vs. Fernando Gonzalez

In Gonzalez’s Court: Daniela Castillo, a pop star who went double platinum in her home country of Chile.
In Soderling’s Court: Jenni Mostrom, whose résumé stretches from the runway to the fairway, with a stint in professional modeling and an All-American honor for golf while at Nova Southeastern University.
Advantage: Castillo. No musical hits since 2006, and yet she keeps at it. You can respect that type of tenacity.

Round 3, September 4 and 5

Jurgen Melzer vs. Lleyton Hewitt

In Melzer’s Court: Dominika Cibulková, though you’re going to come up empty trying to spot her in the grandstand—she’s actually playing in the tournament herself.
In Hewitt’s Court: Bec Cartwright, and if you feel like you’ve seen her before, you must have caught Australian TV’s Water Rats, where she persuasively performed the role of School Girl.
Advantage: Cartwright. Eighty percent of success is showing up, and Cibulková won’t be doing that.
411:
Round 4, September 6 and 7

Mardy Fish vs. Novak Djokovic

In Fish’s Court: Stacey Gardner, a former Deal or No Deal model and practicing attorney. Yes, that old story...
In Djokovic’s Court: Jelena Ristic, who spends her days working in HR for a Libyan oil company. Yes, that even older story...
Advantage: Gardner. This is under the assumption that she comes with the little red dress and bulletproof briefcase full of money.
411:
Round 4, September 6 and 7

Igor Andreev vs. Marcos Baghdatis

In Andreev’s Court: Maria Kirilenko, who, with Igor, forms one of those couples that does everything together. Scrapbooking. Watercolor classes at the local community center. Mixed doubles tennis.
In Baghdatis’s Court: Camille Neviere, who, with a name like that, could only fill her time modeling French lingerie.
Advantage: Kirilenko. It would be tempting to go with the underwear model here, but... forget it, it’s the underwear model. Neviere.
411:
Quarterfinals, September 8 and 9

Andy Murray vs. Radek Stepanek

In Murray’s Court: Kim Sears, who, back in the winter of 2009, split with Andy Murray over his nine-hour-a-day PlayStation 3 addiction.
In Stepanek’s Court: Nicole Vaidisova, who, as a tour pro, was widely admired for her killer serve, strong net play and partiality towards tennis skirts.
Advantage: Vaidisova, if only because Sears doesn’t seem to have been photographed outside of a tennis match in her adult lifetime.
411:
Quarterfinals, September 8 and 9

Rafael Nadal vs. Andy Roddick

In Nadal’s Court: Maria Francisca Perello, who typically prefers a beach retreat over watching Nadal’s big matches.
In Roddick’s Court: Brooklyn Decker, who you may recognize from every edition of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue since 2006. Take that, Danica Patrick.
Advantage: Decker. The woman so beautiful they named not only one of the Five Boroughs after her, but also a popular and affordable line of power tools.
