Things to do for July 20, 2016

The Weekender

First, Snoop Dogg. Then, a Phoneless Lunch.

By Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

When one weekend closes, another opens.

Wednesday
You. Snoop Dogg. Tonight.
DOGG HOUSE

You. Snoop Dogg. Tonight.

You’re at LIV at the Fontainebleau, listening to some indie music. (Yes, indie music. At LIV. Process that and move on...) Suddenly, you look up. It’s Snoop Dogg. On stage. Doing what Snoop Dogg does. And thus concludes a really weird Wednesday night.

Friday
Put Down Your Phone. Pick Up a Slinky and Some Wings.
TOY STORY

Put Down Your Phone. Pick Up a Slinky and Some Wings.

Friday afternoons at Baby Jane, you’ll be asked to surrender your phone at the door. In exchange for this act of valor, you’ll be given a bucket full of Slinkies, Jenga and Play-Doh to keep you busy until your soy caramel chicken wings hit the table. Probably not the most client-friendly lunch.

Fridays, noon-3pm, Baby Jane, 500 Brickell Ave, Ste 105E, 786-623-3555

Saturday
Small yet Mighty Changes Are Afoot at the Betsy
LT TIME

Small yet Mighty Changes Are Afoot at the Betsy

BLT at the Betsy is no more. It’s now LT. And here’s what you can expect from this newly B-less establishment:

—New furniture. Sure, okay.
—A more seafood-friendly menu with curried peekytoe crab and lemon poached lobster salad.
—Wine.

Seriously, though, let’s hear it for furniture.

Sunday
If It’s a Daiquiri-Laden Brunch You Seek...
ENTER THE DRAGON

If It’s a Daiquiri-Laden Brunch You Seek...

A Drunken Dragon brunch now exists. In case you were confused about what that might entail, consider for a moment a Cuban-pressed banh mi with pork, pâté and sriracha. And Thai coconut pancakes. And Hemingway daiquiris. And we’re considering...

Sundays, 11am-3pm, Drunken Dragon, 1424 Alton Rd, Miami Beach, 305-397-8556

Tuesday
Talde Spends a Night in SoFi. So Do the ’90s.
TALDE ORDER

Talde Spends a Night in SoFi. So Do the ’90s.

Here’s one way to enjoy South of Spice this Tuesday: the Talde pop-up at Craft Social Club. Yep, Talde’s bringing the Asian-American foodstuffs down to SoFi, while CSC’s supplying the gin drinks and ’90s beats. It’s okay to say “beats” when the ’90s are involved.
