Let’s Bastille Day, Shall We?

A sample itinerary for Brasserie Central’s Bastille Day celebration:

12:30pm: Guess the weight of a panier garni. That means “gift basket” in French. Yes, there’s wine.
1:15pm: Listen to Parisian tavern music. Partake in oysters and éclairs. Note the $4 champagne.
2:00pm: Glance at the mime.
2:01pm: Drink the $4 champagne.

Repeat as necessary.

Jul 14, noon-6pm, no cover, Brasserie Central, 320 San Lorenzo Ave, Coral Gables, 786-536-9386

RUM RUNNER

For Those About to Salsa

The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne is celebrating 15 years. So if you happen to find yourself at Rumbar on Friday, expect to be surrounded by comely salsa dancers enticing you with gratis rum drinks and inviting you to join them on the dance floor. The things you do for rum.

Saturday

Found You a New Place to Eat Donuts

Sunday
Watching Splash from a Pool Makes Damn Good Sense
SPLASH ZONE

Watching Splash from a Pool Makes Damn Good Sense

Screening an outdoor movie from a pool during the summer. That’s some sound thinking. And it’s happening this Sunday at the Standard, where they’ll be playing the ’80s seminal mermaid classic, Splash, starring Tom Hanks, Daryl Hannah and a ridiculous plotline.

Jackie Gutierrez-Jones finds unhyphenated names quaint. She believes that croquetas and gin cocktails are suitable precursors to running and hoisting heavy weights over one’s head.
