Ghost Town
Where You’ll Be on Halloween

Halloween this year. On a Monday. Yeah, that’s tough—but you’ll be pleased to know this Saturday has no shortage of party options. You’ll want to choose wisely, and by location. Herewith, a by-the-neighborhood breakdown of the best parties in the city.

SOUTH BEACH

Oh Jack

What: There’s a Jack the Ripper vibe to this DJ-fueled party at the Dream’s rooftop bar. Your night will be a crazy swirl of Victorian ladies, tweed-suited villains and gratis Mexican beer for the first hour. Nothing says seedy London underbelly like Mexican beer.
Suggested Attire: Jack the Ripper; Sherlock Holmes
411:
Oct 29, 9pm-3am, $25 ($35 at door), HighBar, 1111 Collins Ave, 305-673-4747

UD Hookup: The first 10 people to RSVP here get in gratis. Spend the savings on a magnifying glass.

SOUTH BEACH

Nightmare Above Lincoln Road

What: This is going down on the seventh floor of the open-air garage on Lincoln’s western edge. (Nothing’s scarier than spending a night in a parking lot.) Gaze down on the freak show happening on the street while sipping drinks from the open bar.
Suggested Attire: Valet; Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver
411:
Oct 29, 9pm-2am, $100 and up, 1111 Lincoln Rd, 786-368-5494

DESIGN DISTRICT

H2P at the Stage

What: This is like a Little Havana street party, except it’s at a DD music club and everyone will be dressed like zombies. You’ll find Latin rock bands like Suenalo performing, as well as stranger things like an actual coffin. No, you can’t take your martini inside.
Suggested Attire: Zombie Tito Puente
411:
Oct 29, 9pm-5am, $25 ($35 at door), The Stage, 170 NE 38th St, 305-576-9577

WYNWOOD

Sketchy Halloween Party

What: Here’s your chance to have your portrait drawn... while wearing a costume. Once you get that done, you can sit back and listen to local bands (the State Of, organicArma), grab a bite from Ms. Cheezious and GastroPod and bask in the sprawling mayhem.
Suggested Attire: The guy from that A-ha video
411:
Oct 29, 10pm-3am, $20-$50, AwareHouse, 550 NW 29th St, 305-576-4004

FORT LAUDERDALE

Whiskey Empire at the W

What: You knew a Boardwalk Empire–themed blowout was somewhere in the cards this year. So if your Halloween plans involved being up in Broward—itself a blood-curdling thought—you’ll be pleased to find sexy flappers, nattily dressed gangsters and a few Jimmy Buffett types milling about. Hey, it’s still Lauderdale.
Suggested Attire: Nucky Thompson, obviously
411:
Oct 29, 9pm-3am, no cost, Whiskey Blue, 401 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd, 954-414-8200
