A Rum-Loving Outdoor Oasis in South Beach

Drinking rum in the great outdoors.

Could be dangerous stuff.

Especially with all of the ocean breezes and minimally clothed inhabitants you’ll have to contend with.

We think you’re up to the challenge.

Enter: The Rum Line, a breezy outdoor bungalow that favors classic rum concoctions, crispy oysters and moonlit conversation, opening Thursday in South Beach. (See the slideshow here.)

This is where you’ll casually while the night away with a few friends over a well-made rum cocktail or two. Make your way to the St. Moritz Tower at the Loews and onto this tropical terrace of twinkling bulbs and teak wood. Grab a seat at the bar or find a plush wicker chair to kick back in.

Because soon, you’ll be ordering Rob Ferrara–concocted glasses of Hemingway Daiquiris and Cargo Ships (rum, Batavia arrack, Panther coffee reduction and mole bitters) and pondering the meaning of life...

Which is clearly about enjoying some damn good crispy oysters and baby back ribs. Those are on the menu here. And they’re pretty solid. Also: shareable.

Also, also: not.
