Two things you've always loved: endless beer and grand theatrical gimmicks. On the rare occasion that the
two come together...
You get
Crazy Pianos, a dueling piano bar in Coconut Grove, Billy Joel-ing its way to your heart
starting tomorrow.
Allow us to walk you through the experience. Grab a few shameless friends, throw on a Hawaiian shirt for
good measure and head to the old Tu Tu Tango space at CocoWalk, where the cluttered-art-studio look has been
replaced with woodwork from Holland, a slightly disconcerting mural depicting jubilant partygoers and two
magnificent, red baby-grand pianos. Yes,
the crazy pianos.
It's here where an army of entertainers will regale you nightly with renditions of pop songs, love ballads
and anything from Journey you'd like to request…and in the process work the crowd into a hot, sweaty,
alcohol-fueled sing-along no karaoke bar could ever replicate. (To loosen the pipes, be sure to stop by one
of the "beer tables," stocked with extra-cold Heineken and a self-service tap.)
It's all courtesy of the Dutch, who have chosen Miami as the first U.S. outpost for their monstrously
successful Holland-based piano bar.
Oh, Amsterdam.
