A Massive Rooftop Lounge in SoBe

None 4 Photos High Bar
We’ve got nothing against the hotel lobby lounge. It’s a damn fine institution.

The flowing white curtains. The deco charm. The starlets dodging paparazzi.

But sometimes you want to abandon the polished terrazzo for something a little more... alfresco. Preferably four floors above the Collins Avenue fray.

Introducing Highbar, your new spot for rooftop cocktailing and pool-dipping under the bare sky, opening this Saturday at the Dream South Beach.

Highbar is one of those places that lets you look upon the sultry chaos of South Beach and remember why you chose to call this bikini-covered wonderland home. (In some ways, the city chose you.)

With a date in tow, you’ll enter through the Tudor House lobby and take the elevator to the fourth floor. Stepping out into a gold-mirrored vestibule, you’ll find yourself in what feels like a tanning oil ad from the ’70s: circular, white wicker couches, a gold-tiled, glass-enclosed bar and a modestly sized three-foot-deep infinity pool.

During the day, the rooftop is only available to hotel guests. But come 7pm, you’re welcome to settle in amongst the teak rocking chairs and summon rounds of The Heat (tequila, cucumber and spicy sambal) and snacks from Tudor House like Chilled Octopus with olive preserves.

High altitude does wonders for octopus.
