You’ve recuperated from the endless parties of Miami Music Month. (It will be a while before you go near glow sticks again.)

And we think it’s time to celebrate with something low-key, yet opulent. You know, like Brazilian cocktails and acrobatic dancers...

Your cue to revisit the storied Marlin Hotel: their just-opened Elite Lounge, a sleek samba-influenced option in the pulsating madness of South Beach.

This is phase one of a complete overhaul of the legendary art deco hotel. Soon the 14 rooms upstairs will be finished, as will a rooftop lounge and a cozy cigar room. But for now, you’ll have your run of the blue-lit lobby lounge named for the famed modeling agency that used to be headquartered there. (The pouty lip vibe is strong.)

This is where you’ll begin or end an evening in South Beach, because for now, all you’ll find here are cocktails—courtesy of a famous Brazilian bartender with a yen for molecular gastronomy. Guide your date to one of the lavender chairs in the lower lobby and summon a Bossa Nova (made with vodka, pineapple and rosemary) for her and a Samba for you (vodka, tangerine, grapes, ginger and basil). Notice the strategically placed cables above you—those are for the Cirque du Soleil–style dancers that twirl on the weekends.

On the weekdays, you’ll just have to be creative.
