Anti Matter

Meet Your 2015 Anti-Resolutions

Resolutions were meant to be broken. Someone said that once. Or maybe it was “records.” Either way, seems like solid advice. So without further ado, here are five ways to spectacularly upend your 2015 resolutions. We call them: anti-resolutions.

Anti-Resolution: A $450 Glass of Booze
RESOLUTION: DRINK IN MODERATION

Anti-Resolution: A $450 Glass of Booze

Everything in moderation, you say. Just a glass of wine a day, you say. Then the bartender at Cavalli mentions a $450 quaff filled with Champagne Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque and Louis XIII de Rémy Martin. Carpe diem, you say.

Anti-Resolution: This Massive Meatball
RESOLUTION: CUT BACK ON RED MEAT

Anti-Resolution: This Massive Meatball

On the surface, $22 for a single meatball sounds absurd. But the one at Siena Tavern is... something else. For one, it’s made of Wagyu. For two, it’s stuffed with ricotta. For three, it’s 14 ounces. For four, you’ll take it.

$22, available at Siena Tavern, 404 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, 305-534-5577

Anti-Resolution: One Pricey Hotel Stay
RESOLUTION: LAY LOW A BIT MORE

Anti-Resolution: One Pricey Hotel Stay

Resolutions bring out the inner homebody. You know, “I resolve to spend more time in my living room, yada yada yada.” And that’s nice. But so is staying in one of the Edition’s two-story bungalows with a private plunge pool overlooking the ocean. Home is where the plunge pool is.

Anti-Resolution: LeBron’s House
RESOLUTION: MAKE A SOUND INVESTMENT

Anti-Resolution: LeBron’s House

For some reason, LeBron James’s house is still on the market. Sure, it costs $17 million. But it comes with a custom theater, a wine cellar and a concrete dock for two 60-foot yachts. You’ll have to park your third 60-foot yacht at a neighbor’s place or something.

Anti-Resolution: This $10K Dinner
RESOLUTION: COOK MORE AT HOME

Anti-Resolution: This $10K Dinner

This dinner at the Setai involves eight wine-paired courses of things like tuna toro tartare, white-alba-truffle ravioli, Kobe beef and chocolate caviar for 10 friends. And it costs about the same as a brand-new Nissan Versa. Maybe make yourself a sandwich for lunch.

$10,000, available at The Setai, 2001 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, 305-520-6000
