In 2013, your cries for more dapper goods in the city were heard. First there was Supply & Advise, with their Steve McQueen–inspired aviators and duffel bags. Then Cottage Miami arrived bearing blazers, chinos and gratis beer. Never ignore your thirst when shopping.
When people think Miami footwear, they think flip-flops. And occasionally boat shoes. That’s why these two stunners—one a house of locally made velvet slippers and the other an outpost from a legendary French leather-shoe maker—made big entrances this year. Now you just need to buy more socks.
We know a genius idea when we see one. And these swim trunks, which fold themselves up into a pouch, definitely qualify. Not only are they extremely portable, they’re also pretty handsome. (Thanks, Italian craftsmanship.) Next up: a tuxedo that turns into a duffel bag.
We live in complicated times, with serious matters that must be addressed by serious people. And while they worried about that stuff, you kicked back in a rooftop spa with vitamin-packed IV drips. And in some of the city’s sexiest hotel baths. Cleanliness is godliness, etc.
There are certain things that you don’t realize you need until someone invents them. Like a pocket swimsuit. Or a nine-hole miniature golf course with replicas of Miami landmarks inside a museum. Pebble Beach and Smithsonian: we hope you’re paying attention.
Dwyane Wade. He helped the Heat win another title. Then he released an app to help you become a better basketball player. And a guy who trained him (and Bosh and LeBron) released an app to help you chisel those abs. Let’s see Mario Chalmers and his trainer do that.
