A cursory glimpse at your calendar confirms it:

You’ve got availability to meet up with gin that’s been distilled from beer.

For that, look to the wizards at Big Cypress Distillery, a small operation that’s churning out bottles of locally made gin and rum, open now in the wilds of Kendall.

So about that gin they’re distilling from beer. It’s a collaboration they’re working on with M.I.A. Beer. You’ll have to wait a few weeks for that one—sorry. But until then, know that it involves a hop-free beer called gruit. And know this:

It’s the first craft gin distillery in Miami.
Nice. Here’s a look around.

Right now, they’ve got two spirits waiting for you to try.
Magic City gin, which involves 11 different herbs and botanicals, and Hell’s Bay rum, made from organic molasses. Looks like a light rum, but... not quite. You’ll see.

You can do your sampling during the week.
Specifically, Tuesday to Friday, from 5 to 7pm.

And you can tour their 1,600-square-foot facility.
But you’ll need to make an appointment for that first.

They’ve got souvenirs.
Yes, you can take some bottles home. But thanks to some arcane law, you can only buy two bottles of each liquor, max. So, technically, that’s four bottles per person.

And that’s all the math we’ll ask you to perform today.
