Four Things to Know About Freehand Miami

None 5 Photos Freehand Miami
Good news, we’ve found a new hotel pool for you to drink around in South Beach. It’s called Freehand Miami, it’s opening in time for Basel, and the NoMad/Broken Shaker folks are involved. Also, it’s actually a hostel.

Below, four other things about this place that you probably didn’t see coming, either...

It was designed to look like a sleepaway camp... boathouse. The ceilings are rustic wood. The nautically bent rooms have blue bunk beds. And during the day, there’ll be bocce, bike rentals and arts-and-crafts classes. It’s been far too long since you macraméd.

It’s a direct descendant of the NoMad. So yes, these guys are sort of the masters when it comes to creating a late-night lobby scene (that’ll probably come in handy during Basel).

Eat their veggies. Or drink them. We’re not here to judge. What we do know is that there’s an on-site garden with herbs and vegetables that’ll be supplying fresh produce to the restaurant. And the cocktails.

That bar looks awfully familiar. That’s because it’s the Broken Shaker. Maybe you’ve heard of it. This is going to be their new permanent home.

So remember to bring a housewarming gift.
