Tardi Slip
Cured Meats and Brick-Oven Pizzas
There was a slight chill in the air this weekend. (Okay…very slight.)
Which can only mean one thing: it's time to eat outside.
That's why we're pleased to bring you news of
Mai Tardi, a mostly outdoors pizza lounge in the
Design District, opening in a scant two days.
Located in the old Brosia spot, Tardi retains a lot of what made that place so appealing—the
regal oak trees in
the courtyard, surrounded by green and blue mosaic tiled walls.
But the new owners—the folks behind Lincoln Road's Spris and Segafredo—have sprinkled a bit of magic
dust to ensure this becomes your new home for inexpensive Italian and scene-y espresso-fueled lounging.
There's a handsome wood-burning brick oven, marble pizza bar and hand-cranked vintage meat slicer, ready to
slice you some
cured pork
with mechanical precision.
And when evening falls, you'll guide your date to one of the outdoor patio couches to sip wine and polish
off plates of
northern Italian
classics like
Venison Ravioli With Gorgonzola Sauce and
Pork Tenderloin With Plum-Grappa
Sauce.
No need for a sweater. Yet.
