Let’s play “Pretend It’s Fall.”

The objective: order steaming-hot bowls of chowder and comment on the nip in the air while remaining as oblivious as possible to the 90-something-degree weather outside.

Ah, come on. It’ll be fun.

Especially since it’s happening at Izzy’s Fish & Oyster, a briny sliver of a space for buttery lobster rolls, shellfish and, yes, New England clam chowder, now open in South Beach. (This is the slideshow and here’s the menu.)

Oh, look, it’s another Jamie DeRosa spot. First, Tongue & Cheek. Now, this cozy house of bivalves with a wood ceiling, metal mesh accents and a whitewashed brick wall with a mural of a blue octopus drifting across it.

You should stop in for dinner tonight. If you happen to find an open spot at the 15-seat marble bar, take it. Then make that gesture you make when you want a glass of crisp white wine and some fried clam bellies to go with your warm lobster roll.

Or in the event of a date night, swing by and get comfortable in one of the bright-blue leather banquettes. Because soon, some lobster tagliolini and a massive pewter octopus filled with spiked punch will be heading your way.

You had a nice run, not-pewter-octopuses.
