Stay the Cors

A Good Excuse to Go to Aventura

Tomorrow. That’d be a great day to take a drive up to Aventura.

We’re being serious.

First of all, it’s going to be really nice out. Lower the windows. Crank up some music.

Second of all, that’s where they’re finally opening the doors to Corsair by Scott Conant.

Yes, that Scott Conant. Of Scarpetta and being-all-furrow-browed-on-Chopped fame. He’s got a new spot reigning over a corner in Turnberry Isle, and it’s opening tomorrow. (See the slideshow here.)

You should probably get really cozy with a reservations email right about now.

Then, head over with a date whose interests in waterfalls and open kitchens come second only to veal cheeks and polenta waffles. After walking around the wood-floor dining room and deciding that it’s too nice out not to be sitting next to a waterfall, you’ll head outside.

You’ll wine (there’s a massive wine cellar). You’ll dine (thanks, Scott).

You’ll cap off the night with after-dinner drinks crafted by the guy who did the Bazaar’s list.

You’ll... suddenly remember that you’re in a hotel.
