Fried Gator and Frog-Leg Gumbo in Brickell

(If he’s busy making a cocktail out of rhino tears, just give him a second.)

Because tonight, you’ll be taking down some gator and wild boar.

With your bare hands.

Steel yourself for Box Park, a glorious temple to wild-game stew and nose-to-tail comestibles, now open in Brickell.

You remember Mare Nostrum. That Spanish spot with the 2,000-bottle-strong, glass-enclosed wine case (kudos for almost making it through the list). Well, this is what’s taken its place. A cozy space awash in grays and creams, stocked with blond-wood tables and a white marble bar lined with lemon-yellow chairs. All the better to spot them with... after a couple of rounds.

But the food, well, it’s the stuff you’d find in a ramshackle roadhouse on the edge of the Everglades. Which is to say: bring a date. An open-minded one. The kind who’s utterly at ease toasting with a glass of champagne... over a roiling bowl of boar-and-frog-leg gumbo. Or a plate of crispy gator bites. It’s pretty much all fair game.

And before wrapping up the night: dessert. Like a banana split with imperial stout ice cream or a treat from the Box Park cookie jar.

Don’t worry, the gator wouldn’t fit.
