A SoMi Pub for All Sorts of Burgers

Here’s the thing about Baby: nobody puts her in the corner.

Here’s the thing about McFly: nobody calls him chicken.

Here’s the thing about you: nobody waves a gigantic burger in front of your face, dares you to eat it and gets away with it.

So prepare yourself for Rok:Brgr, a new burger (and lobster corn dog/bourbon cocktail) joint that’s home to one of those mammoth-sized bacon-cheeseburger challenges, soft-open tonight in South Miami.

You’ll find it in the former Segafredo spot—an industrial-looking number outfitted in Chicago brick, Edison lights and flat-screen TVs. Show up after dark (they’re open until 4am on weekends), whisk a hungry/insomniac date to a black-leather banquette on the outdoor patio and order a round of Rok “Old Fashioneds. That’s maple syrup, orange bitters and bacon-infused bourbon.

In terms of the food you can actually chew, there’s gastropub-y fare like poutine and Kobe meat loaf on the menu. But really, the deal here is the burger. Ten ounces of beef topped with all manner of insanity like pork-belly confit and maple-bourbon-bacon jam.

Or, for those with a bigger appetite/unhealthy competitive spirit, there’s that challenge we mentioned before. You versus an intimidating 30-ounce patty. Twenty minutes on the clock. Win and you get a free draft beer.

Hey, don’t sip it all in one place.
