Alligators are invading.

Hold on. Before you panic, know that the situation is under control.

And has been topped with cheese, mushrooms and a soft bun.

Meet 8 oz. Burger Bar, a patty-flipping, poutine-laden, alligator-slider-slinging haven from the Govind Armstrong empire, opening tonight in North Miami Beach.

Imagine the barn where Kevin Bacon furiously shimmied in Footloose. Now add a couple of wood-burning grills. And actual bacon. There, you have this place. Mason-jar light fixtures. Weathered wood walls. Chalkboard specials that may or may not include a reptile or two.

You’ll want to trek out here the next time you’re really hungry (tonight) or curious to see what kind of crazy sliders these guys are whipping up in the kitchen (also tonight). Snag a seat at the long stretch of bar. Order a Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro (think beer... meets chocolate milk). Now you’re ready for a burger.

Our suggestion for this evening: those alligator sliders. Or, if you’d prefer a meat you’re more familiar with, the pork burger topped with roasted poblano, avocado and an optional fried duck egg. Oh, and make sure you leave some room for their short rib poutine.

There, now you’re done with eating till Wednesday.
