Duck Fat Chips and Steak in SoBe

You can’t mess with fate.

Some cities are just meant to have a billion steakhouses.

But hey, if that fate happens to involve juicy slabs of beef and duck fat potato chips, then you’re more than willing to go with it...

Welcome to Kane Steakhouse, opening tonight in the former Tuscan Steak space as your new home for steaks, gin cocktails and—given the location—probably a bit of pre-club-hopping seduction in South Beach.

Yes, this new spot reincarnates the popular beef temple of yore—but you should know that the people behind this outfit are the same folks who helm Strip House in New York and Michael Jordan’s Steak House. Meaning, they’ve spent years perfecting their dry-aging and steak-charring before setting up shop in South of Fifth. (Also: they can dunk.)

With its stately cypress columns and white leather booths the size of small islands, the dining room is your spot for wooing—clients, out-of-town friends and the occasional leggy carnivore. Wine them (there are 240 different types on hand). Dine them (yes, go ahead and order that center-cut chateaubriand for two). And lavish them with duck fat (both in the potato chips and the hash browns).

And, as a little opening gift to you, they’re pouring you house wines gratis for dinner all week long.

Hey, if it’s meant to be...
