Mojitos and Cuban Funk in Hollywood

Well, that was some performance. We have no idea how they got those dogs to pull draft beer. The game was nice too. But now it’s time to look ahead to where you’ll be getting your next mojitos. Turns out, it’s in Broward—at the new Bongos Cuban Café, now open at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood. Here’s what to expect:

It’s Sexy: This is the fifth outpost of Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s Havana-styled supper club empire, and probably the most elegant of the bunch. Think white leather banquettes, a mirrored high-top table for 20 (perfect for your date with the entire Florida Panthers Ice Dancers team) and a glass-enclosed rotisserie oven for heating your pollo with five-foot flames.

It’s Tall: There are two levels, so ask for a table on the second floor. Start with a pitcher of sangria made with orange blossom and rosé wine, and settle in for the live Cuban funk band performing on the upstairs stage.

Come Hungry: Portions are huge and include Cuban classics like Bistec de Palomilla (steak with garlic mojo), paella and seafood ceviche served in a hollowed-out coconut.

Raise the Roof: When dinner’s over, you’ll want to head to the two-story roof deck, complete with 360-degree views of the casino madness below. And if you’d like for a bartender to muddle you some mint, sugarcane and rum tableside, just flag down the mojito cart.

No one flags down a mojito cart like you.
