Ah, the color pink.
You can look pretty in it. You can be named it. And, most important, it's one hell of a hue to devour a taco
in...
Introducing Tacontento, your new technicolor land of coal-fired tacos, soft-open now and fully open
this Friday in South Beach.
First, let's address the decor. There's a lot of hot pink and turquoise for
your eyes to absorb in here, so you might feel like you've stepped into a groovy burrito joint in San
Francisco's Mission District. But you'd be wrong, because this spot is straight out of Latin America, the
first US restaurant of a chain with similar places in Honduras, El Salvador and Brazil (nobody makes Mexican
like the Brazilians).
Whether you're coming in with a date or just a hard-drinking, fuchsia-loving band of misfits, you'll want to
head straight for the angel-presided bar and summon something tequila-y like a La Fuente de la
Juventud (cucumber juice, cilantro, jalapeño and tequila).
That will set the stage for your platter of Tacos al Pastor, full of pork that's been marinated in
a spice blend and slow cooked over an open coal fire for a smokier flavor.
We are a big proponent of clean coal technology.
