They have great beef noodle soup in Taipei. But here’s the problem... Taipei is in Taipei. Maybe go to Paris’s new Taiwanese street-food joint instead, complete with marquee-lit signs, red lanterns, crispy onion pancakes and steamed dumplings. Yeah, maybe that instead.
Happy hour. Now, normally when you hear those words, you think of lobster tempura, bacon tarte flambée, oysters, beers, wines and cocktails from Daniel Boulud at a cost of not-very-much-money. No? Well, here’s a new happy hour at DB Brasserie anyway.
Back in the day, Sand Dollar Lounge was a second home to blues legends like Muddy Waters and B.B. King. Then it became the Bikini Bar. Then it was on Bar Rescue. Then it closed. The takeaway: it’s back. And it’s not terrible anymore. Also, beer tastes delicious.
If you’re not into lobster rolls and pancetta carbonara pizza for lunch, we don’t even know you anymore. If you are, you should probably get to Giada’s soon. She just started serving lunch at her brand-new Cromwell spot, along with sangria and other things that are both necessary and important.
