Pool Parties, Endless Sake and a World Cup Stadium

UD - The Blue Hour

The Blue Hour

Fulfilling Vegas’s implicit promise of round-the-clock aquatic merrymaking, the MGM is opening one of its ordinarily private Signature pools for a happy hour pool party in the formerly pool-party-less sunset hours. So you’ll have DJs, cabanas and happy hour beer buckets to soothe you as you watch the sun drop behind the palm trees. Don’t worry. It’ll be back tomorrow.
411:
Fri-Sat, 6-10pm, MGM Grand, Signature Tower 1 Pool, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd, 702-891-3333

World Cupping at Emeril’s

For Sunday’s World Cup finale, Lagasse’s Stadium is bringing you nationally appropriate eats and drinks—think Spanish Bloody Mary-style tomato soup, Dutch and Spanish beers—on top of the usual stadium seating, easy sportsbook access and a nine-foot-tall plasma screen. Vuvuzelas are permitted... but you won’t be making any friends.

La Martina at the Forum

Like most people, you’re here in Vegas to do one thing: up your polo game. To help you, the official outfitter for Argentina’s national team just opened up an outpost at Caesars Palace with official belts, bags and, naturally, polo shirts. Be sure to try to talk them into getting you a mallet for the craps table.

Now open at The Forum Shops, 3500 Las Vegas Blvd, 702-893-4800
UD - Sake Brunch at the Mandarin Oriental

Sake Brunch at the Mandarin Oriental

You know how it is. It’s Sunday morning, you’re feeling unusually sluggish, and the only thing that can help you... is rice wine. Fortunately, MOzen Bistro’s giving you a bottomless supply of sake cocktails, along with short ribs, maki rolls and truffled eggs on the side. Don’t worry: there’s old-fashioned mimosas and champagne too.

Sundays, 11am-2:30 pm, Mandarin Oriental, 3752 Las Vegas Blvd, 888-881-9367

Mood at Artisan

You probably remember the dim lights and artistically revealing oil paintings of Artisan Hotel’s old restaurant. But now the date spot’s back with a new name, a new chef (a Wolfgang Puck alumnus) and a new menu—including Lobster Mac ’n’ Cheese. You’ve always enjoyed pairing nudie oil paintings with lobster mac ’n’ cheese.
411:
Now open at Artisan, 1501 W Sahara Ave (at Westwood Dr), 702-214-4000
