You’re Getting a Del

From South Beach with Love: Delano Las Vegas

Ah, South Beach.

A seaside haven of relaxation and shiny people lying under the sun.

An oasis of white sandy beaches and inviting accents.

A place that’s... over 2,000 miles away from Las Vegas.

Wait, that’s not right.

Because a prime slice of Miami has just arrived on the Strip in the form of Delano Las Vegas, a beachy retreat of penthouse suites and Cubano sliders con mojitos, now open. (See the slideshow here.)

Before, it was THEhotel. Now, it’s not. Because now it’s a bright and airy leisure dome with floor-to-ceiling windows, mirrored walkways and a suspended art piece made up of hundreds of little rocks. It’s all very South Beach meets Mojave Desert meets Frank Lloyd Wright. You know the kind.

You’ll come here to admire the giant boulders craned in from the Mojave Desert, which lead you to the 150-foot-long art gallery/lobby. Or maybe... not.

Maybe you just want to eat and drink things. Like spiced pumpkin pancakes at Della’s Kitchen. Or a Provence-and-Tuscany-inspired dinner at Alain Ducasse’s rooftop spot.

And should you happen upon Franklin (the lobby bar, not the random person named Franklin), ask for the South Beach Sunrise—a Campari, honey syrup and egg white concoction. Goes great with the fried pig ears.

You can sleep here, too.
