Starting Friday, Salt & Straw will serve Halloween flavors including a green-grass scoop packed with ants and other bugs preserved in hard candy amber. Meanwhile, Little Spoon will pop up at the Brig with a cart full of frozen puddings like s’mores and peanut butter brownie, should you take your cold desserts bug-less.
That attractive vegan you’re seeing wants to experience the many-splendored joys of Oktoberfest. Enter: Vegan Oktoberfest. Yep. Over 50 breweries will be there, plus food from Donut Friend, the Springs and Sage. There will be other, less vegan Oktoberfests next year.
You missed former Smoke.Oil.Salt chef Perfecto Rocher. And he missed you. But now, you’ll have Sundays together at Hinoki & the Bird, where he’s making three paellas. And Mondays, when he’ll do five courses of stuff like foie chestnut soup and wood-fired octopus. In your heart, you always knew he’d be back.
