This week, Perks is taking half off your next pair of cult selvage denim jeans, fresh from the laboratory:
the Denim Design Lab. It’s modern-day jean science, with a dash of old-timey alchemy. A little jean
alchemy goes a long way.
Your favorite
high-tech wine bar by the beach has instituted a noble policy: earlier drinking hours. Five days a week,
you can now drop by at noon for $5 glasses of wine. They’ve also mentioned something about lunch—think
B.L.A.T.s (the A is for avocado) and Cheese Flatbreads.

RED MEAT
Atlantic Bar & Grill Now Open
To start off your big night out on Cahuenga, step into the former home of Bar Delux for some Steak
Frites and a Blood and Sand (scotch, cherry brandy, orange juice and vermouth). The classy art
deco vibe remains, but the new incarnation is the kind of place that has actual dinner tables. But don’t
worry, the bar’s still there too.

Now open, Atlantic Bar & Grill, 1624 N Cahuenga Blvd, Hollywood, 323-207-6218, see the menu
Maybe the deepest and most revealing look at one of America’s most interesting men, Hugh Hefner:
Playboy, Activist and Rebel is your chance to go beyond the bunnies (though, yes, there are bunnies) to
explore Hef’s lesser-known crusades, like when he airlifted orphans out of Vietnam with his jet. Think of
it as a blueprint for your own run at grotto-level success.

Opens Jul 30 at the Nuart, 11272 Santa Monica Blvd,

MONDAY NIGHT RAW
$1 Oysters, Clams and Shrimp at Delphine
We’ve found where you’ll be spending your Mondays in the near future: Delphine, where they’re now
dishing out oysters, clams and shrimp for $1 apiece. You’ll also want to give strong consideration to the
Beer-Battered Codfish for $3, lobster rolls for $8 and glasses of wine for $5. This is pretty much
all you can ask from a Monday.
411:
Mondays, 5-10:30pm, Delphine, 6250 Hollywood
Blvd (east of Vine), 323-798-1355
VESSELS
LA’s Most Expressive Book-Signing Audience
Whether you dabble in acting, have appeared on all seven CSI spin-offs—or you just want to meet a
fresh-faced model/actress/Sherman Oaks waitress—you’ll want to stop by Book Soup on Wednesday for the
signing of The Lee Strasberg Notes. The Strasberg method worked for Pacino, Dean, Brando and De
Niro, so it’s pretty much guaranteed to make you at least as brilliant as the guy who plays Turtle on
Entourage.

Aug 4, 7pm, Book Soup, 8818 W Sunset
Blvd, West Hollywood, 310-659-3110
