Standard Procedure
A Casual General Store off La Brea

Let’s take a quick look at your shopping list:

1) Milk
2) Cereal
3) A cereal bowl
4) A nice flannel shirt for fall
5) Some Bowie on vinyl

Allow us to help you with numbers three through five...

Take a look at Standard Goods, a dapper new general store from a Band of Outsiders alum, now quietly open on Beverly Boulevard.

If you’re looking to carve out a wholesome, all-American rep this fall (minor damage control after your summer), this is where to pick up a few things. Think gray plaid Our Legacy flannel, a nautical striped shirt from Armor Lux and a weekend bag from Makr to throw everything in on Friday afternoon.

And while you’re there, you might be interested in a white cereal bowl and some apricot jam. Maybe a lamp, a chair and some old books about LA and the history of whiskey. (Obviously a must-read.)

If you need the right soundtrack while you poke around, flip through the Bowie and Beatles records at the back. The albums are for sale, but there’s also a player behind the counter and they’ll put on anything you like.

You only try on pants to George Harrison.
