Crazy Sexy Pool

A Pool Party with Tacos and Bourbon Margaritas

It doesn’t get much better than hanging out in the sun by a pool.

Until you add bacon-and-beer-battered-shrimp tacos.

And tequila-spiked micheladas from Julian Cox and Josh Goldman.

Then it does. It does get much better.

Cancel any pesky obligations for Sayulita, Mondrian’s casual new poolside hangout with gourmet tacos and a taste for tequila, now soft-open and grand opening May 6 in West Hollywood.

What you’ll see: it’s a communal table and a casual congregation of ottomans assembled around a patch of fake grass between Herringbone and the hotel’s pool. You’re in California, so once you make it that far, the rest should come naturally. You and a few friends will sprawl out on the astroturf, kick back and cue the sun worship.

Before long, an assortment of Palomas, micheladas and bourbon margaritas will arrive from servers in colorful shirts. And after a leisurely day spent on your back leads to the inevitable ravenous hunger, you’ll choose from six tacos, with stuff like pig’s ears, bacon and beer-battered shrimp, and sous-vide short rib asada inside.

FYI: Tuesday will be a good night to come. It’s called “Tunesday.” Because that’s when they’ll feature live acoustic artists.

Offering stiff competition to the taco artists.
