’Gatta Have Faith
Bison Sliders and Martinis on Melrose
It’s that time of year again. You can’t trust your eyes. That sexy nurse might not actually be a
nurse.
Hell, even bars are dressing up.
Meet
Bugatta,
a light, breezy patio
cocktail spot disguised as a sexy, S&M-y restaurant, opening tomorrow in the former Bungalow Club on
Melrose.
Up front is the place’s “sexy [blank]” costume—the main dining room is donned with studs, leather
and some highbrow art of a girl in a leather bustier. So if it’s around dinnertime and you’re suddenly
feeling a little carnivorous, grab a table and make
some filet mignon
skewers and bison sliders happen.
But step out back and you’ll see the demure cocktail spot underneath that costume. Think lots of open air,
bamboo, billowing white curtains and roomy cabanas with white ostrich-skin booths that you might find
poolside on a discreet hotel rooftop. (Note: there’s no pool. Or hotel. Or rooftop.)
This is where you’ll want to ride out the sunset with a second date and a couple rounds of
Dirty
Hipsters (with scotch, ginger beer and basil). It’s also a good spot to keep in mind for happy hour,
since plenty of martinis are $6 every day from 4 to 7pm.
With or without dirty hipsters.
