Drinking at a normal bar is fun. You have no problem with that.
But sometimes you could use a bit more cutting-edge. Like a bar that feels like a woodsy 1970s drinking
lodge... crossed with a Euro-glam swimming hole.
Say hello to
The Falls, a new place to drink cocktails and celebrate the majesty of a good stack of
lumber, now soft-open Downtown.
The latest spot from cocktail-lounge expert Michelle Marini (Lava Lounge, The Woods), this is where to go
when you’re in the mood to venture Downtown, and your date or drinking buddy wants a bit of the outdoorsy
vibe... without actually being outdoors.
Stepping in, you’ll see a cozy one-room space replete with rustic touches like limestone rocks, tables
made out of tree stumps and an entire wall comprised of lumberjack-style logs. But before you start thinking
you’ve stepped into a Wrangler commercial, you’ll be reminded of LA with glam elements like
glittering
copper tiles and shiny chandeliers.
Order a couple of
Rustics at the bar (gin, grapefruit juice, agave nectar)—they’re
unfortunately out of ginger beer, which means no
Horseshoes (tequila, lime juice, ginger beer) at
the moment—and don’t be surprised if you get a little hypnotized by the place’s signature feature, a
soothing virtual waterfall made of cascading digital monitors.
Try not to chase it...
